Question by Tony: .avi to .vob quick convert?
Ok so this is weird. But i just found out i can burn .vob files to a cd-r and play them in my dvd/mp3/vcd player hooked up to my tv.
Ok i know it won’t play my .avi files if i just burn them to a disk.
But i drug the .avi file to the blank cd and it automatically converted it to .vob in just 5 6 minuets.and it plays in my dvd player just fine. My PROBLEM IS it won’t do it again. Last time it didn’t even ask me it just did it. I’ve downloaded several video converter’s and it takes forever to convert the files. Why is this can i fix it?

And a side question since my dvd player play’s “VCD” Is the only format that it plays “.vod”??

Converting AVI to VOB always takes a ridiculously long time. There’s no way around this unless the video you’re trying to burn is already MPEG2 (which might be what happened the first time)

First thing I offer is to visit divx.com. Learn about divx files. Download the divx converter and player. If this will play those avis, you’re all set. Go to Walmart and get a divx capable dvd player. I got one for $ 38. Works great! Plays avi files burned onto cd or dvd. Many divx files will fit, compared to only one vob. Get G-spot, avi file identifier. This will let you know just what you have in that avi formatted media. Play with these programs, learn them.
